Shepherdstown

Rattlesnake Run subdivision is located near Historic Shepherdstown, West Virginia. This small town was chartered as Mecklenburg, Virginia in 1762 and renamed Shepherd's Town in 1798, in honor of founder Thomas Shepherd. It is thought to be the oldest town in West Virginia.

Shepherdstown is located in Jefferson County, in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, near Civil War battle sites, and the historic towns of Harpers Ferry and Sharpsburg. Shepherdstown is ideally located only one half hour away from the towns of Hagerstown, Maryland, Winchester, Virginia and Frederick, Maryland. Little more than four miles from the MARC commuter train, it is also one hour from Dulles and one and a half hours from BWI airports.
