Rattlesnake Run subdivision is located near Historic
Shepherdstown, West Virginia. This small town was
chartered as Mecklenburg, Virginia in 1762 and
renamed Shepherd's Town in 1798, in honor of founder
Thomas Shepherd. It is thought to be the oldest town
in West Virginia.
Shepherdstown is located in Jefferson County, in the
Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, near Civil War
battle sites, and the historic towns of Harpers
Ferry and Sharpsburg. Shepherdstown is ideally
located only one half hour away from the towns of
Hagerstown, Maryland, Winchester, Virginia and
Frederick, Maryland. Little more than four miles
from the MARC commuter train, it is also one hour
from Dulles and one and a half hours from BWI
airports.
